I’m not a writer, but today, I felt like putting my heart into words.
Just a little piece of the story behind Yaavi’s Yums, and why I started this small home bakery in Indore.
🧁 It All Started With a Little Girl Named Yaavi
My granddaughter, Yaavi, lives far away in the UK. And every time I miss her (which is very often), I find myself in the kitchen. Baking. Mixing. Trying out new recipes for sweets and treats. It brings me peace and joy.
Over time, I realized something powerful — if baking brought me so much comfort, maybe it could do the same for others too.
🌱 I Never Planned to Start a Business
Honestly? This wasn’t part of any grand plan. I just started baking for friends and family. Then their friends started asking. And before I knew it, I had regulars coming back for more.
So many people told me how hard it was to find fresh, homemade eggless cakes in Indore. Some said they couldn’t enjoy traditional sweets anymore because of sugar or gluten issues.
And that’s when I made a decision:
If I was going to do this, I’d do it with love, care, and honesty — just like I would for my own family.
🎂 What I Bake (and Why)
I offer:
Eggless cakes and cupcakes – because many families in Indore prefer pure vegetarian treats
Gluten-free and sugar-free desserts – because everyone deserves to enjoy a sweet moment, no matter their diet
Middle Eastern sweets like Baklava and Kunafa – because I fell in love with these delicacies, and I make them the traditional way, using the best ingredients
But beyond the menu, it’s about how these treats make people feel.
One of my customers once messaged:
“My father hadn’t had cake in 7 years because of his diet — he finished your sugar-free slice with a smile.”
I cried that day. That message meant more to me than any sale ever could.
🏡 This Is Still a Home Bakery
Yaavi’s Yums is still just me — baking out of my kitchen here in Indore.
I make everything in small batches, with no frozen stock, and every order is made fresh — just the way you’d bake for someone you love.
Sometimes I stay up until 2 AM to finish a custom cake or a box of cupcakes for someone’s special day. But I don’t mind. I feel lucky to be part of your birthdays, anniversaries, or even your “just felt like having something sweet” moments.
📈 What’s Next for Yaavi’s Yums?
We’re growing slowly and organically.
You’ll soon find Yaavi’s Yums on Swiggy and Zomato for easier ordering across Indore.
I’m also learning how to run Instagram (it’s a learning curve, but I’m trying!).
